Jonathan Rizzo, known to co-workers, church staff and friends as “Rizzo,” was born and raised in the cow-town “up the hill” known as Ramona, California. Nestled up in the hills, far from most major grocery and department stores… definitely no malls, Jonny grew up playing outside and enjoying the simpler things.
“if you want it badly enough,
you will make it happen.”
These days, carrying a full-time job, a part time Youth Pastor ministry and a family of five, things are far less simple. His encouragement to others is always, “if you want it badly enough, you will make it happen.” Proving in the authorship of his new book Three Hours to Live, among all the other responsibilities and hats he’s wearing, here’s tangible evidence of a “no-matter-what” attitude. He hopes his readers are encouraged by this to go out and do what it is God is calling them to do, regardless of the obstacles.
Jonny has a major passion of sports, but baseball has remained a constant throughout his journey, and continues to be a major passion of his. Just ask his wife how many signed, broken baseball bats adorn the walls of their freshly painted new home.
His Spiritual Gift of encouragement is one that shines in his everyday interactions. He hopes you are encouraged by his story, whether you’re reading his book or listening to him speak somewhere around the globe.
Jonathan resides in San Diego, California with his wife, Lindsay, and their three young daughters, Cecelia, Evelyn and Gianna.
